A couple of illustration things...
...yesterday I received my copy of UPPERCASE magazine, with a special layout about foxes. Yup, that fox in the upper lefthand corner is mine! I love foxes in any context, and I especially love to draw them, so this feature was close to my heart and I was thrilled to be included!
Also, my husband was going through some old stuff in the garage and found a few random illustrations, among which was this sketch I did of Piney Lake several years ago, our old stomping grounds up above Vail. It makes me a bit homesick for the Vail Valley, where right now the ski season is giving way to "mud season". Oh how I miss my old hikes, especially with spring in the air.

Congratulations on being included in the publication. I have to say that this is the first time I see it as a fox. I thought it was a dog all along. I should have paid attentio to the tail. This is one of my favorite illustrations. I love children with their spirit animal. One day when you can resume commissions I will request a black panther for Sally. She loves them.

How wonderful that your beautiful fox has found its way into Uppercase magazine, congratulations!

Every now and then, a fox, his bushy tail held horizontally (proudly?), would cross out front lawn. Just like that, as if NW DC was the most natural place for foxes (there's a Foxhall Road just up the street, who knows, they may have meetings up there!). ;-)
