I know. That picture melts the heart, doesn't it? Sadder to think that, in an ideal world (which, sadly, doesn't exist) she would have been leaning her head for comfort against the shoulder of her birth father. She has never had that opportunity (not since the first three days of her life, at least). It's down to us to give her what she should have had from day one, as best we can. I only hope we can do it justice.

I love downtown NY. One minute you're in Chinatown, and a few blocks later, you're in Little Italy! I used to live in Lower East Side (way before it got hip, gentrified, and expensive) and I enjoyed strolling through the streets!
