A travel document photo of my great grandmother and her four daughters, just after they moved from France to Florence, Italy, where my great grandfather had taken a teaching job at the university. My grandmother is at the left of the photo. At top is her sister Nini, who would grow to become a great adventurer, hiker, outdoorswoman and anthropologist, and who would eventually settle in Casablanca, where, as a single mother, she would raise her only daughter. At right is Madeleine, who would become a nun and win a medal of honor for helping to save a batallion of soldiers during the war. She would eventually leave the order to marry for love.
At bottom is Jaqueline, a piano prodigy who would tour with Yehudi Menuin as a child.

Wonderful tales. You have an adventurous heritage, perhaps it runs in the family...

What a fabulous photograph of little girls who would grow up to lead lives of such adventure!
