Thursday

While in Brooklyn, Q was beside herself with excitement to visit my childhood friend Megan and, specifically, her dog Ruby.
If you've been following this blog for a while, you may remember Ruby as the star of the Bow-Wow books (illustrated by Ruby's mommy) to which Q is addicted.
But Q's favorite part is watching Ruby perform her repertoire of tricks, which seems to grow more extensive with each visit.
Last year, Q's favorite trick was when Ruby fetches a tissue for someone who has just sneezed.
This year, her new favorite is to  have Ruby remove her sock from her foot on command.

 Applauding with glee.
Megan's house is a paradise for kids, not only for its treats for the eye, but also for its amazing library of vintage children's books.

Reading a new Bow-Wow book together.

We were also fortunate enough to have some visitors from the neighborhood, allowing Q an unexpected playdate.
And Ruby was imposed upon to perform her tricks all over again.
Thanks, Megan, for another lovely visit!

How fun! No wonder Ruby is the star of several books! What a clever dog! My cat has no interest in helping me take off my sox, nor does he make a move for the Kleenex if I sneeze.
I love old children's books and admire the collection of black and white toy cats, and the original, the cutie sitting on the couch.
I want to visit Ruby's house!

I hope Q is sporting her BIG GREEN BOW today!

Oh, she is Natalie! She has inherited an Irish name, so of course her daddy insisted on the green bow this morning :)
