Sunday

Obviously, our long day at the cleft clinic, seeing six-odd sets of doctors for evaluations on Q's next set of surgeries, was stressful for my husband and I.
But it is a lovely illustration of Q's spirit that she spent her time in the surgery office wearing her head surgeon's Jimmy Choos (and a pair of surgical gloves) around the room, much to the amusement of her parents, two plastic surgeons, and ENT surgeon, and various others.
That's my girl.
She'll be just fine.
As for her mommy, she may need some sort of emotional boot camp (and possibly some meds) to make it through a summer of three-ish major surgeries.

Oof.

We will all come out stronger on the other side.

She is a special spirit ~ one that touches every soul she meets with pure delight.

As a mom, I cannot even imagine how your heart and overall state-of-mind will cope, but you will and as you said, everyone will grow stronger through it all.

I'll be thinking of you three ~

BTW, have I told you how much Gaia loves her doll? She gazes upon it every day and then gently touches her hand ever so often. Every time I pass by her, I smile and think of you and your creative soul.

Bisous,
Melissa

It's so hard to stand next to your child who has to go to surgery. If possible I would rather have them do the surgery on my.
I cried when my son got his anestetic, I cried when I saw the stitches on his little head. And my little man, well he just went through to whole thing so relaxed and happy!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you & the Q!

Three? Ouch. I believe, like you, that she is strong. It is not going to be easy for you or her but there is a lot of love and strength in her clan. I hope time flies and that all of these surgeries are behind you soon. I am so sorry, I had no idea this is what you were dealing with at the moment.

It is hard for a mum to see her child suffer, I feel bad to know there will be 3 surgeries. But you will make it through together, your strength and love will help you make it through together. Sending you lots of positive energy and much love.

Q's spirit is catching!

I understand your heart. Now that Ty is almost 4, I know his next surgeries will be more complicated emotionally for both of us. What do they plan to do for Q? We have our team meetings in May for both Ty and Remy.It looks like she will have her palate repaired this summer. Who knows for Ty. They wanted to do a P-Flap on him, but we no longer need it. This is my child that one day is told that he has graduated from speech due to how well he is doing, to being a candidate for p-flap. It pays to be educated and do your research on these matters. I never thought he needed to graduate from speech and I am happy I stuck to my guns. His speech is up and down due to his mood and development. Hang in there. Lots of prayers for all of you. Now for some fresh baked bread and a glass of wine for me.
