Friday

At the Asian markets this morning, buying ingredients for the one-pot meals my husband has been inspired to make this week. Unfortunately, these noodles (while delicious) were not nearly as purple as they appear in the picture.
 Q inspecting the produce.
She has a way of finding everything in the store that's pink. Even the cellophane noodles she found in a pink net bag.
Q has been on a huge tofu kick lately. It's really the only thing that she'll eat in massive quantity (everything else she picks at like a baby bird).
We're very much looking forward to crispy tofu in miso butter. Yum!

And then there's the Pocky aisle...very pink indeed!

Aw, Q is such a darling, she looks like she was having as much in the grocery store as going to an amusement park!

Sounds like a very tasty meal ahead! if you are looking for pink/purple pasta I know a very good simple Italian recipe which uses beets and has just that effect!

Juniper, pass it on, please! Q has just recently entered her "pink phase", and I have so far learned to make both pancakes and macaroni rendered bright pink with beet juice. It delights Q no end! Mike and I are on a major root vegetable kick this year, so it works out well, since we eat lots of beets. I'd love to have your recipe!

how cute. she loves pink! I only went once to this market, it's in downtown Denver right? It was a shame we only learned of it during our last month in Colorado.

C-L: I think the one downtown you're thinking of might be the Pacific Mercantile in Sakura Square? We love that one but it's been a while since I was there. This one is actually in the Asia center down on south Federal Blvd. I don't know the name of it. It's in a whole complex of restaurants, banh mi sandwich places and gift shops.
