Decorating the tree.
This was the first year that she had the attention span for it, and honestly I expected her to loose interest after the first couple of ornaments.
But she turned out to be in for the duration...methodical and meticulous.
I was quite impressed with her skills!
And there were gratuitous moments of complete four-year-old joy, like when these little glass birds formed a family and had conversations on her fingertips.
I can't tell you how much I love that she had written "Mommy" (give or take and "m") on her own arm that morning.
Giving special attention to the precious feathered white dove.
A last few ornaments ready to be hung.
Random bursts of holiday joy...
and a spontaneous final hug for the lovely, fragrant tree!
