Une Envie de Sel

A little message for the Holidays...with thanks to Brynn's beautiful boys, and their gentle spirit, for helping to inspire my illustration.
The balloon story (no, it still doesn't have a title) was originally inspired by two youngsters who, in an act of pure generosity, gave our baby her very first balloon, just days after we brought her home from China. We had never met, I never knew their names nor did they know ours. Our daughter still had an unrepaired cleft, and we'd been warned that people might be put off by the look of her face. In fact, we found the case to be just the opposite. These two children who, of their own volition, offered our daughter the balloon that had been purchased for them, helped us to realize the innate generosity and goodness of the human spirit, and their act of kindness inspires me to this day.
